- PSG have reportedly never been convinced by the Catalans’ bids.
- The talks with Los Blancos have accelerated this weekend.
- The Parisians demand €160m plus a player as part of the deal.
Boom! A huge story appears in the Madrid-based newspaper Diario AS. They claim Real Madrid are ahead of Barcelona in the neverending Neymar transfer pursuit. Apparently, Paris Saint-Germain have never been convinced by any of Barca’s offers from the Brazilian. Moreover, the most recent Philippe Coutinho’s move to Bayern Munich may lead to further doubts over Neymar’s potential Barca return.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, are said to be serious in their pursuit. The sides have already held several talks on the Brazilian and accelerated the negotiations this weekend. As for Barca, AS claim PSG didn’t hear from them for a while. Moreover, they would prefer selling to Madrid rather than the Catalans.
PSG reportedly want as much as 160 million euros for Neymar, plus a player as part of the deal. They have already asked for Vinicius but Madrid don’t want to lose their promising starlet. The alleged list of other candidates includes Isco, Raphael Varane, James Rodriguez, Keylor Navas and even Karim Benzema.
Unlike Barca, Madrid are determined to land Neymar as he could become a much-needed Galactico signing. As for Neymar, he has never publicly announced his desire to rejoin Barcelona. Given his desire to leave PSG as soon as possible, he could accept an offer from his former side’s biggest rivals.
Previously, French top source Le Parisien made a bold claim that Barcelona were simply bluffing over Neymar to make Leo Messi happy.
