Microsoft President Visits Europe To Impact AI Regulation Discussion

On Thursday,  Brad Smith Microsoft President Visits Europe To speak to an audience in Brussels on the benefits of regulating artificial intelligence and how the American software giant can help. This was a message that he had already delivered to an audience in Washington, D.C., one month earlier.

Smith, along with Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter and CEO of Tesla, has made efforts to court regulators and lawmakers with calls for the regulation of artificial intelligence (AI), a technology that has gained enormous public interest with the launch of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which is supported by Microsoft.

Big Tech has offered some proposals on how artificial intelligence (AI) should be regulated, which may serve to mitigate the effect that such restrictions will have on their respective businesses.

The AI Act is a set of regulations that is currently being developed by the European Union, and it is a world first that has the potential to serve as a model for other nations.

Microsoft President Visits in Europe Cleared five-point plan that Microsoft has developed for managing artificial intelligence, which includes government-led AI safety guidelines, safety brakes for AI systems that manage key infrastructure, and ensuring academic access to AI, is in line with the proposed law in the EU.

Smith asked the European Union, the United States, countries in the Group of Seven, India, and Indonesia to collaborate on AI governance in a way that is consistent with their common values and ideals.
