Adobe launches Firefly-Powered Photoshop  on the web, making it available to those with premium plans on Wednesday. The web version, which had been in beta testing for close to two years, is now available with Firefly-powered artificial intelligence techniques such as generative fill and generative expand.

The company has stated that the tools on the toolbar on the website are grouped together based on processes such as selecting an object or recreating a picture. In addition, the web version of Photoshop displays the complete names of the tools rather than the tooltip descriptions for users who are just starting out.

Adobe launches firefly-powered  photoshop stated that users are able to quickly work on files with one another by exchanging links with one another, even if the other person does not have a subscription.

In May, the business unveiled new Firefly-powered capabilities such as generative fill, which allows users to add or delete items while keeping the context of a picture intact, and generative expand, which allows users to expand an image and fill it with material based on a prompt. Both of these features can be found here.

These features were exclusive to the beta version of Adobe Photoshop at that time and could only be accessed through that version. Now, they will also be available on the web version, which Adobe may use as a platform to test new features or release more frequent updates.

Adobe has stated that the desktop version’s tools are available on the web version as well, including the contextual taskbar, which makes suggestions for the next steps to take and tools to use based on the workflow. However, it does not yet have a polygonal lasso, patch tool, pen tool, or support for smart objects. According to the corporation, efforts are currently being made to include these tools into Photoshop for the web.

The company has indicated to The Verge that there are currently no plans in place for it to make a free or freemium version of Photoshop available via the internet.
