- Barca’s interim president Tusquets says that he wants the club to hold the elections as soon as possible.
- However, the pandemic situation in Catalonia is making things tough for Blaugrana.
“We have decided to call elections as soon as possible as long as the health conditions allow it. They could be around Christmas time. We will propose a plan for it to be done respecting all the health measures,” Barcelona interim president Carles Tusqeuts has said.
It’s been five days since the interim board took charge at the club and they are yet to name an exact day for the elections. The previous times Barca were led by interim boards, in 2010 and 2015, they took only one day to set the voting dates.

However, we should keep in mind that the pandemic is making things complicated for Barca as more than 100,000 people could end up taking part in the voting.
Josep Maria Bartomeu resigned on Tuesday, October 27. Starting with that date, the interim board should arrange elections in the next 40 to 90 days.
