According to Ukrainian government sources, a missile strike carried out by Russian on Thursday kills four persons in the city of Lviv. This attack was the largest assault on the civilian infrastructure of the western Ukrainian city since Russia’s full-scale invasion.
A one-minute video that was uploaded to the internet by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy showed buildings that had parts of the roof and higher stories destroyed as well as windows that had been shattered and rescue workers sifting through the wreckage for survivors. He indicated that a reaction would be forthcoming.

“We will most certainly have some kind of reaction to the aggressor. It is going to be one that stands out.”
The number of fatalities was set at four by the Interior Ministry, and they said that 32 people, including a toddler, had been injured. The efforts of the rescue workers continued at the location.
The emergency services said that they were able to extricate seven persons from the wreckage and that 64 others were taken to safety.
According to Mayor Andriy Sadovyi, it was the largest strike on civilian infrastructure in Lviv during the more than 16 months that the war has been going on. Lviv is a city that is far from the frontlines and is approximately 70 kilometers (43 miles) from the border with NATO member Poland.
Before Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the city of Lviv was home to approximately 700,000. Since the beginning of the conflict, a significant number of individuals from other regions of the country have sought refuge in the city to escape the fighting and air strikes that have taken place there.
According to the Ukrainian air force, Russian carried out an attack on Lviv using Kalibr missiles that were fired from the Black Sea. It was reported that seven out of ten missiles were successfully intercepted as it kills four.
According to Sadovyi, a number of residential homes, an office complex, a student campus, and a school all sustained damage. He stated that the damage will be expensive and that the windows of hundreds of apartments had been broken.
