Some students of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) on Monday protested against a lecturer identified as Prof. Cyril Ndifon whom they accused of sexual exploitation and harassment.

The students, mostly female of the Faculty of Law at UNICAL were seen in a viral video carrying placards with different inscriptions, calling out Ndifon for allegedly harassing them as they held a peaceful rally within the premises of the university.

The female students with their male colleagues who joined in solidarity chanted protest songs in front of an administrative building inside the university.

“Prof Andifon, let the girls with big breasts breathe. Stop suffocating us,” read one placard displayed in the video.

“Prof. Ndifon, let the girls with big breasts breathe, don’t suffocate us,” another placard read.

The protesting students on a placard called for the sacking of Prof. Ndifon “for their sanity”.

The vice chancellor of UNICAL, Prof. Florence Banku Obi while addressing the aggrieved students said their cries and complaints have been heard.

Obi further assured them that necessary actions will be taken while praising the students over the manner they peacefully conducted the protest in line with the institution’s rules and regulations.

“I want to first thank you for the peaceful manner you have conducted yourself. It shows actually that you are law students,” she said.
