President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, will, today, lead federal lawmakers and other dignitaries to this year’s national prayer breakfast at the senate wing of the National Assembly complex, Abuja.
The event, organised by the Fellowship of Christian Parliamentarians of Nigeria (FCPN), is expected to hold from 7.00am to 9.00am with Bishop David Abioye of the Living Faith Church, Goshen City, as the guest speaker
This year’s breakfast, themed ‘Faith in a Time of Crisis’, has Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as the special guest of honour with leaders in the political, religious and economic spheres of the country in attendance.
Briefing newsmen about activities lined up for the 11th edition of the event, Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha, from Taraba State, said the aim was to pray for Nigeria and shape the attitude of lawmakers regarding their responsibility.
According to Bwacha, the event did not hold last year because of the Coronavirus Disease, while this year’s edition is virtual, so diplomats can join, adding that the theme was chosen deliberately to answer the challenges of the time, politically and economically.
