Some disengaged beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s N-Power scheme are expected to visit President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday in Katsina State during Eid al-Adha.

It would be recalled that several beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s N-Power programme on Thursday 23rd July, 2020 protested at Abuja over unpaid Stipends and disengagement from the famed programme by Federal Government.

Iliya had stated, “The ministry wishes to state that this demand was not part of the agreement of engagement they signed with the Federal Government, which clearly stipulated that they will be exited after two years.”

The disengaged N-Power beneficiaries are clamouring for permanency amid their imminent disengagement by Federal government.

According to a beneficiary, Mustapha Kabir Soron Dinki, “We expect Katsina N-Power beneficiaries to meet President Buhari in Daura during Sallah festivity for the potential disaster of disengagement facing the 500 thousand beneficiaries. We wish them every success.”

As well, the top hierarchy of the N-Power State Ambassadors confirmed the development to this online news medium on Tuesday.

Of all the National Social Investment Programmes (NSIPs), N-Power is the most popular.

The N-Power is a programme designed by the Nigerian government to address the challenge of youth unemployment by providing a structure for large scale and relevant work skills acquisition and development while linking its core and outcomes to fixing inadequate public services and stimulating the larger economy.

The volunteers are paid N30,000 (approximately 77.41896 USD) monthly as stipends and given tablet computers to aid further learning.
