Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, has said the Oransaye report is good for the nation, but quickly added that politicians with vested interest were ensuring it does see light of day.
She explained that some aspect of the report had been implemented over the years, adding that the only remaining aspect was the scrapping and merger of agencies.
Yemi-Esan spoke yesterday while fielding questions from participants at the Aig-Imoukhuede Institute of Public Leadership Programme in Abuja.
She, however, kept mum on the reported N900 billion budget for some of the affected agencies.
The Head of Service, meanwhile, said the salary parity in the civil service was becoming wider and creating unnecessary tension by the day.

She, nevertheless, pledged that the problem would be addressed before the end of this year.
Recall that for years, there have been agitations among civil servants over the matter, especially at the federal level where some staff in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) receive higher salaries, the qualifications at entry level notwithstanding.
This development has not only created bad blood among workers, it had equally affected smooth execution of government programmes for the benefit of the citizens.
Yemi-Esan hinted that a presidential committee of on salary review in MDAs had been put in place with the hope of resolving the lingering issue before the end of the year.
She added: “A lot work is being done now. I chair the Presidential Committee on Salary Restructuring. It is actually a problem for the committee because the parity is wide. We are finding a way to bring some people up and find solution to those at the top. The committee is working with the Salaries and Wages Commission on this. I can assure you that by end of this year, the parity will be reduced appreciably.”
The Head of Service urged workers not to be distracted by the problem, stating: “As civil servants, if you are hardworking, you will still get your reward and more pay.”
