Kim Kardashian Speaks Out Ahead Of Julius Jones Planned Execution

Kim Kardashian is speaking out in support of Julius Jones by posting a series of tweets supporting the convict ahead of his planned execution in Oklahoma on Thursday.
The Kardashian fired off a series of tweets on Tuesday outlining what she referred to as the “cold machinery” of the U.S. death penalty in an attempt to stop the execution of Oklahoma inmate Julius Jones. On Monday afternoon, the reality star posted these tweets after Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt denied a meeting with Jones’ mother, Madeline Davis-Jones.

Davis-Jones and dozens of other supporters visited the governor’s office to request a meeting.

41-year-old Julius Jones has been incarcerated for nearly 20 years. Jones is on death row after being convicted for the murder Paul Howell. He was convicted of the fatal shooting of Howell; an insurance executive shot dead in the driveway of his parents home in Edmond as he, his sister and his two daughters were returning from getting ice cream.

Jones, who was sentenced to death at age 22, has maintained his innocence, saying he was set up by the actual shooter, who was an acquaintance.

Kim Kardashian West and other celebrities have helped draw national attention to Jones’ case. In 2019, the reality star posted a tweet pleading with Stitt and the Pardon and Parole Board to consider granting Jones clemency.

“The state is so bent on vengeance that they will make every effort to ensure they get to kill Julius- including reviving him if he happens to go into cardiac arrest prior to the execution,” Kardashian said in a tweet.

Kardashian revealed that she was anxiously waiting to hear if Stitt would grant Jones clemency. She had previously met with Jones at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester, Oklahoma, last year. She tweeted to her followers what Jones’ last days will be like if he is executed.

“At 9pm the day before his execution, #JuliusJones phone privileges will be terminated, and he will receive his last meal. He will be checked on every 15 minutes for the last four hours of his life. Then, he will be put to death,” she tweeted.
“On Thursday, the Inspector General will obtain the body bag and tag from the medical examiner’s office, and all witnesses for the execution will be selected. Next week, they will restrict access to the unit where Julius is housed, and they will perform equipment checks.”

Stitt is Jones” last hope for clemency as he and other inmates had lost an appeal to temporarily suspend their execution at a federal appeals court earlier this month. Last month, the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole board voted 3-1 to recommend Stitt grant Jones clemency and reduce his sentence to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Stitt can choose to accept the recommendation or reduce the sentence to life without the possibility of parole or let the execution proceed.

“This is the cold machinery of the Death Penalty in America. In just over two weeks, an innocent man could be put to death,”

Kardashian tweeted. “My heart breaks for Julius and so many others who have suffered from such tragic miscarriage of justice.”

It was the result of a partnership signed by the French giants in 2018 with Socios.com which sees fans use a cryptocurrency called ‘chiliz’ to buy tokens allowing them to vote on issues related to the club.
