1. Messi is loyal

Back in October, Transfermarkt reported that Leo Messi, alongside Mark Noble, was the ‘most loyal’ player in Europe, having made his debut for Barcelona back in 2004. On the day Transfermarkt published the report, the Argentine had spent at Barca 16 years, nine months and 23 days.

Forbes revealed in 2018 that Barca had earned a staggering €521m through Messi’s shirt sales and advertisement since his debut. Besides, La Informacion claim that in the 2018/19 season alone, Barca earned €255m from marketing and advertising, with Messi being the biggest source of revenue.

3. Messi respected his contract

Leo tried to leave Camp Nou last summer because he thought his contract allowed him to. However, when it became clear that he can’t go, the Argentine accepted his fate and continued at Barca. As Messi himself revealed later, he didn’t want to take ‘the club of his life’ to court just so he can leave.
