ASUS introduced a new 14-inch gaming laptop called the ROG Zephyrus G14 at CES 2020. It features AMD‘s newly announced Ryzen 4000 chips, is the smallest ASUS gaming laptop to date, and can be equipped with an optional LED dot-matrix display at the rear that can showcase the time, GIFs, and other animations. The G4 features an ultra-light and sleek design that the company says is meant to sway away from the aesthetic of most traditional gaming laptops in favor of a more clean and professional look. However, despite its small size and 3.5-pound weight, it is still able to provide 10.5 hours of battery life.
It supports DC and USB-C input charging that’s able to handle lighter work powered by up to a 65W Type-C adapter. The G14 also possesses a power button with a Windows Hello-compatible fingerprint reader embedded to sign-in faster. Similar to other laptops in the Zephyrus-series, the G14 features a raised lift design that lifts the back of the laptop off the desk halfway for better cooling. But unlike other models, the G14 lifts the entire back of the laptop with a solid base.
Although no price-points have been announced, the standard model of the G14 is slated to ship sometime in mid-March, while the AniMe Matrix model with the pixels is expected to arrive later in April.
