“Barcelona have officially activated their second economic lever by selling 15% of television rights for the next 25 years!
Barca sold the rights to Sixt Street, the same investment fund that bought 10% of Barca’s TV right earlier.
In total, Barca have handed 25% of their TV rights to Sixth Street for 25 years.
The new deal brings an income of just over €300M.
A statement from Barca president Joan Laporta reads: “We continue to advance our strategy and we are delighted to have completed this agreement with additional Sixth Street that provides us with a significant increase in our financial strength.
“In recent weeks, us and Sixth Street, we have committed ourselves and collaborated with a shared understanding of what we seek to achieve for our organization, and we hope to have a great deal of long-term collaboration.””
