Barcelona confirm Philippe Coutinho’s departure to Bayern Munich. The sides agreed on a one-year loan deal on Friday, August 16. Now it’s official.
The Catalans also reveal the financial details of this transfer: the Bavarians will pay 8,5 million euros for the loan and pay Coutinho’s salary in full. Bayern will be able to sign the Brazilian on a permanent basis for 120 million euros.
Earlier, the loan fee was said to be at around 20 million euros. However, the Brazilian will cost much cheaper than expected.
The player was previously considered to be a part of a Neymar swap deal between Barcelona and PSG, however, the Brazilian was reportedly not delighted with the Parisians’ wage offer.
Last season at Barca, Coutinho only scored 11 goals in all competitions. In total, he contributed to 32 Barcelona goals with 21 goals and 11 assists.
Coutinho joined Barcelona from Liverpool in January 2018. His initial transfer fee is 120 million euros with a further €15 million arrived as add-ons.
