  • The Brazilian will join Bayern Munich on a season-long loan deal.
  • The Bavarians will pay €20m for the loan and cover his €12m net salary.
  • Until June 30, 2020, they have an option to sign him permanently for €120m.

On Friday’s night, just after Barcelona and Bayern‘s respective games, the Bavarians have officially confirmed they have agreed on the Philippe Coutinho’s loan deal. The Brazilian is set to sign a one-year loan deal with the medical scheduled for this Sunday or Monday.

And now Barcelona-based newspaper Diario Sport reveal the alleged financial terms of Coutinho’s contract at FC Bayern. This information is confirmed by Sky Sports and L’Equipe as well. Let’s have a look:

  • Bayern Munich will pay 20 million euros for the season-long loan deal.
  • They will also cover Coutinho’s salary which is about 12 million euros net.
  • Next year, the Bavarians will be able to secure the permanent transfer for 120 million euros.
  • However, this clause is said to be valid only until June 30, 2020.

Coutinho was linked with both Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain. He was expected to be used as a makeweight to bring Neymar back at the Camp Nou stadium. However, it now seems that this deal has fallen through. Still, Coutinho’s exit will help the Catalans to balance the wage bills as he was reportedly the third-highest-paid player at the club.
