Xavi started life as Barcelona manager with a 1-0 win against Espanyol, back in November last year.
However, Xavi’s home form in La Liga stuttered from there. Let’s briefly compare Xavi home and away records in the league in the 2021/22 season.
Home record
Barcelona lost as many as four league games at Camp Nou Xavi. That includes defeats to relegation-threatened teams like Cadiz and Rayo Vallecano.
Altogether Xavi lost four and won eight of his 12 home games this season.
Away record
Away from Camp Nou, Xavi’s Barca were almost devastating. They even traveled to the Santiago Bernabeu to beat Real Madrid 4-0 in March. It was not a fluke.
In fact, Xavi’s team finished the season unbeaten away from home, despite playing more games away (14) than they did at home (12).
Overall, Xavi’s team won 9 games and played a draw in the other 5 games.
Next season, Xavi’s team will most likely challenge for the title if they can play at home, as good as they do away.
