14 Barcelona players started the pre-season on July 4 under the guidance of Xavi.
They were: Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Sergino Dest, Gerard Pique, Riqui Puig, Ansu Fati, Neto, Nico, Pedri, Sergi Roberto, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alex Collado, Francisco Trincao, Miralem Pjanic, Inaki Pena, Alex Balde, Abde Ezzalzouli, Ilias Akhomach, Mika Marmol, Antonio Aranda, Chadi Riad, Marc Casado, Pablo Torre and Arnau Tenas.
The players that returned the earlies were those that did not play for their national teams in June.
The only exceptions are Ansu Fati and Miralem Pjanic. They were called up by their national teams but perhaps decided that coming back earlier would help them convince Xavi.
