Why Greenwood could technically return to Man United next week – explained

Mason Greenwood could return to Man United as early as next week, claims the Athletic.

The 20-year-old is currently suspended by the club after being accused of rape and assault by his girlfriend.
However, Premier League clubs are legally only allowed to suspend their players for two weeks, with full pay.

So technically, Greenwood could return to Carrington next week if he’d want to.

That being said, because of the allegations around him and media pressure, he’s not likely to pursue a return to Old Trafford anytime soon.

Moreover, United won’t let him train with the squad or come anywhere near the matchday squad as long as the investigations into his case continue.

They should allow him back, he needs help. We cannot judge anyone, all we can do is pray & help him. I know he has done wrong but everyone needs a second chance. Only God can judge him.
