A hue and cry has been raised by rivals over VAR decision’s to give United a penalty.

Aston Villa and Liverpool fans appear to have put their 7-2 memories behind to unite and cry about Manchester United getting a penalty (looks like 2021 isn’t all that different after all).
As the Red Devils beat Villa 2-1, there was a moment where VAR awarded a penalty to Paul Pogba – and all hell broke loose.
Not just rival fans but even Villa boss Dean Smith has moaned about the outcome but people seem to have a short-term memory.
Pogba was shielding the ball from a Villa player and he clipped his foot – which ultimately led to the penalty.

  • What most of these serial moaners have also missed is that the defender knocks Pogba’s leg onto his own – as seen in the image above.
  • It was a soft penalty and that’s all part of the game – but is elbowing your opponent so hard that he bleeds also part of it?
  • Let’s not forget Tyrone Mings’ nasty challenge on the midfielder which left him with blood on his face. And there was no VAR intervention in that case – even though many believe Mings should have been punished.

  • We can all sit and argue about the penalty decision but it is what it is. These decisions will always remain controversial but what matters is we’ve got three points on the board. The ones who are crying can simply continue doing so.
