Valverde expected ‘to leave next summer’, Barca eyeing replacement

The next summer transfer window is going to be a busy one for Blaugrana, as they are might need to sign a new manager in addition to their other targets.

As Madrid-based Marca suggest, everything suggests that Ernesto Valverde is set ‘to leave Camp Nou next summer’. The coach’s contract with Blaugrana expires in June 2020 but he has the option to extend the deal for one more season.

Meanwhile, Marca also claim that the Catalans are studying the market to find a potential replacement for Valverde. Although there are several technicians on Barca’s wishlist, Ronald Koeman is said to be the frontrunner in the race.

The former Blaugrana defender is currently coaching the Dutch national team and if he does agree to join Barca, his appointment is unlikely to follow until after the 2020 European Championship.
