Extraordinary on and off the pitch.

  • In 1984, after Diego Maradona joined Napoli from Barcelona, he asked his new club and FIFA to arrange a friendly game to raise funds for a sick child.
  • Both rejected the request, so the Argentine took the matter into his own hands and organised everything himself.
  • Instead of playing at a huge stadium, Diego came to the boy’s house and played football right in the backyard.
