When Manchester United were crowned Premier League champions at the end of the 2008/09 season, Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother was the first person he embraced.
Maria Dolores has always been the Portuguese’s biggest supporter and their connection grew even stronger following the death of his father in 2005.
That Premier League title ended up being Ronaldo’s final trophy with the Red Devils as he left for Real Madrid shortly after.
