Blancos told Pedri he wasn’t good enough but this snub served as extra motivation.
The 17-year-old has never hidden his admiration for Barca and he’s got the desired move after hard work.

“I was on trial for a week at Madrid, they told me I wasn’t good enough,” Pedri told Cadena SER, referring to his failed trial at Real Madrid in early 2018.

“They took me to an office and they told me, and I was a bit upset, but it served to keep me working and improving. Thanks to them, because now I’m at the team I always wanted to be. Since I was little I’ve been a Barca fan.”

Pedri failed to succeed during his Madrid trial mostly because of the challenging weather conditions. He is now thriving at Barca, scoring twice in 10 games.
