Manchester United could yet see more players leave Old Trafford before the January transfer window closes with several of their out of favour stars seeking pastures new.

Manchester United could sanction yet more January exits Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted.

The Red Devils are still in the midst of reshaping their squad with the Norwegian only just celebrating his second anniversary in charge of the club.

A messy summer transfer window hindered the restructure of their squad – both regarding ins and outs.

The likes of Sergio Romero and Marcos Rojo were denied exits but could be allowed to leave this month with their contracts winding down.

Several other players remain on the fringes of Solskjaer’s squad with Jesse Lingard getting a rare run out last week.

And the Norwegian refused to rule out more players departing Old Trafford in the next fortnight.

He told the club’s official website when asked if he expects to part with more members of his first-team squad: “You can’t really say no because, in football, things just crop up.

“There are opportunities that we can’t really say no to and, if it’s the best for the club and the player, then it’s something we’ll look at.

“At the moment I can’t update you on any of them, I don’t really know where any negotiations are [up to].”

The likes of Daniel James and Brandon Williams have both been linked with loan moves away in order to further their development.

Back-up goalkeeper Dean Henderson may also seek a temporary switch as he looks to push for a place in the England squad this summer.

Solskjaer though is unlikely to let the goalkeeper leave despite his opportunities being few and far between.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah is the only player to depart thus far having joined Bayer Leverkusen.

The defender though left Manchester with the club’s best wishes having turned down a new contract.

“We wish Tim all the best – six-and-a-half years I think he was here,” Solskjaer added.

“He’s an exciting talent and he’s got the attributes, but he needs to play.

“When he gets regular game-time I think we’ll see him for Holland and we’ll see how good a player he is.”
