Most candidates appear to be against bringing the Brazilian winger back but Emili Rousaud could consider this option if 2 important conditions are met.

Last night, Neymar confessed he hopes to play with Leo Messi again next year. As Barca’s presidential election looms closer, we’ve taken a look at what the candidates say on getting the prodigal son back.

  • Victor Font: “Institutionally, Neymar’s not in my plans. For financial reasons and for other reasons, like the lawsuit he has against the club.” (h/t Diario Sport)
  • Xavi Vilajoana: “Would I get Neymar back? With the team, we have right now, no.” (h/t EFE)
  • Agusti Benedito: “He left by mistake. I can’t see him coming back.” (h/t El Larguero)
  • Toni Freixa: “I wouldn’t sign Neymar because of how he left the club and his level. Currently, Neymar is not even among the top 30 best players in Europe.” (h/t El Larguero)
  • Emili Rousaud: “It doesn’t make sense to throw money away and sign him for big money, but if he comes for free, the deal is possible. Everything would be conditioned on him dropping the lawsuits.” (h/t L’Esportiu)
  • Joan Laporta: “I have things that I’d like to say, but I won’t do it so that I don’t destabilise the team.” (h/t CatRadio)
