The former United midfielder believes the Red Devils need another defender to sustain themselves in the title race.
He suggests them to sign Leicester City man Wesley Fofana after his impressive work this season.
Paul Scholes told ESPN: “If I was Ole and could sign a defender this month, I’d go for Wesley Fofana at Leicester.
“He’s only 20, but he has been outstanding and he has the potential to be anything he wants to be.
“United have done OK at the back this season, but they have been exposed when playing against the big teams, and that’s another problem they need to solve.”
Fofana has helped Leicester City keep 7 clean sheets in the Premier League and put in some solid performances for them this season. However, the Foxes are unlikely to sell to a direct title rivals anyhow in January and Man United don’t seem keen on making signings either.
The Red Devils are likelier to go for a new centre-back in the summer and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can perhaps look into signing the young French defender then.
