The team has been camped at the Eko Hotels and Suites since Sunday. They had training sessions at the hotel’s gymnasium but moved to the stadium with the arrival of the full complement of the squad ahead of tomorrow’s Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier.

Meanwhile former international, Dahiru Sadi, is confident the Super Eagles will beat their Liberian counterparts with a wide margin.

Speaking to The Guardian on Tuesday, Sadi described as a good omen the fact that all the invited foreign-based players play for their clubs every week in the new season in Europe
“This is very important for the boys and it is a boost towards what we should expect from them ahead of our meeting with Liberia on Friday (tomorrow).

“It is when we don’t have our boys playing regularly for their clubs that we can now start doubting them. And even our goalkeepers too are doing well in their respective clubs,” he said.

Sadi, who expressed optimism in the ability of the boys to win well, said, “I also trust our defence to withstand any offensive from the Liberians. At the weekend, I watched Troost Ekong and Ogenekharo Etebo playing for Watford against Tottenham Hotspurs in the Premier League and I saw how both of them shielded their opponents. Wilfred Ndidi too did well for his club at the weekend,” he said.
Sadi, who until recently was the coordinator of the national U-23 men’s football team, added, “I watched Eagles’ captain, Ahmed Musa, also score a goal for his new club at the weekend. This also shows what to expect against Liberia and next week against Cape Verde.”
