During his pre-Middlesbrough press conference on Thursday, Ralf Rangnick was asked about the rumours linking Mauricio Pochettino with Manchester United.
The German said: “I have no idea. My full focus is on training the group right now, we have games coming up in three different competitions.
“I couldn’t give any reasonable answer to that question, my focus is on the next couple of games, weeks and months.”
It was reported earlier this week that Paris Saint-Germains’ Pochettino and Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag are the main candidates to take over at Old Trafford.
Rangnick will play a part in selecting the new permanent boss after transitioning into a two-year consultancy role at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
