Kevin de Bruyne showed flashes of his talent but struggled with injuries while at Chelsea.
In short, Oscar believes, he just lost the competition in the middle of the pitch because he was not consistent enough.
As for Salah, he just never showed on the pitch what he was capable of in training.
“De Bruyne even gave me an assist,” former Chelsea midfielder Oscar recalled in an interview to Yellow and Green Football.
“There was a formation where [Eden] Hazard, De Bruyne and I played in midfield and it worked well. He only had a few chances, played well but then got injured.
“I guess that not being consistent at a club that had many options in the centre of the park meant he was not a good fit at the time.
“With Salah, it was different. He was unstoppable during practice, but always shy and quiet off the field. During the games, I guess he did not have the confidence that we saw at every club he played for after Chelsea, and especially now at Liverpool.”
Of course, it all worked out great for both the players but not for Chelsea: they have led Manchester City and Liverpool to new heights, as the two clubs have won the last three Premier League titles and City are the current favourites for another one.
Chelsea, meanwhile, earned around £33m for selling them to Wolfsburg and Roma – which is like pocket change in comparison with their current valuation
