Moses Simon extends contract at Nantes until 2026

Nigerian attacker, Moses Simon, on Friday extended his contract with French Ligue 1 club, FC Nantes until the summer of the year 2026.

Simon’s contract was due to expire in the summer of 2024 but with a few months to go, the Nigerian winger decided to put pen to paper on a new two-year deal.

“FC Nantes is very pleased to announce the contract extension of Moses Simon (28 years old),” the club wrote on its official website.

“The Nigerian winger who arrived in the summer of 2019 from Levante Unión Deportiva (La Liga, Spain) has decided to continue the adventure in yellow and green for the next two years.

“He is now linked to the Club des bords de l’Erdre until 2026. He has made a name for himself on the pitches of Ligue 1 Uber Eats, since his arrival at Maison Jaune.”

Simon who has scored three goals and contributed five assists in 16 Ligue 1 appearances for Nantes during the 2023/24 campaign also took to Instagram to express his feelings.

“The adventure continues with the Canary Islands. I am very proud and very happy to renew my commitment until 2026,” he wrote.

“Can’t wait to see what the future holds. I know I’m where I’m supposed to be. Nantes is now part of me and when the opportunity to re-sign arose, I was so happy.”

The 28-year-old since arriving from KAA Gent in the summer of 2019 has netted 25 goals and contributed 27 assists in 140 Ligue 1 appearances for Nantes.

In 163 appearances in all competitions for Nantes, the Super Eagles attacker has bagged 29 goals alongside 31 other assists.
