Messi could be set to leave Barcelona in the summer amid a swashbuckling offer from one of the richest clubs across Europe’s top five leagues.

Lionel Messi continues to be unhappy at Barcelona despite Josep Maria Bartomeu’s resignation. The squad does not seem to be going in the right direction with Ronald Koeman at the helm, plus, with the financial situation threatening bankruptcy of the Camp Nou outfit, the 33-year-old sees it the best fit to pursue a challenge elsewhere.

Inter Milan are reportedly planning a record offer to land Messi, reports claim. The Nerazzurri are owned by a Chinese firm, which is arguably the next best source of money after the Arab ownerships. Antonio Conte’s side has already tabled a two year offer worth 140 million euros in total for the Argentina international.

Conte has led the team to great things and Messi’s signing may help them bridge the gap between very good results and silverware. Moreover, from a marketing standpoint, the Barca ace will once again be in the same league as Cristiano Ronaldo, leading to a massive rise in the stake the Serie A occupies in the European footballing network.

Manchester City will certainly consider Internazionale’s approach and subsequent offer a very bad occurrence in their own pursuit of the six-time Ballon d’Or winner. Not to mention, the Citizens may still have the upper hand due to the Premier League’s superior standard and of course, Pep Guardiola’s presence in the Etihad Stadium’s dugout.

Barcelona have already weathered one storm with regards to Lionel Messi, who was vehemently pushing for a departure last summer. At this instance though, the La Liga giants will have little to absolutely no power considering that the player is completely free from contractual obligations at the end of the season and can discuss openly with clubs in January.

Do you think the captain will leave the club of his lifetime in the summer?
