AC Milan have been touted as Barca’s main rivals for the Lyon forward.
The Catalans have an agreement with Depay but they still lack funds for his signing.
“AC Milan say that Memphis Depay is not a target for them, the only club that is working to sign Depay is Barcelona,” arguably the most reliable transfer source Fabrizio Romano said on the latest episode of the Here We Go Podcast.
“They have an agreement with the player, but they have to sell before they can buy.”
The Rossoneri have long been named as the Catalans’ main rivals for Depay but as it appears now, he’s more likely to sign for the Blaugrana.
The Lyon forward is out of contract at the end of the season. Some reports have recently suggested that the Ligue 1 side would be open to the Dutchman’s departure for just €5m in January.
