Manchester United fans have hijacked Amad Diallo’s Instagram posts with messages of excitement ahead of the youngster’s impending transfer to Old Trafford.
United confirmed the capture of the highly regarded Atalanta teenager during the summer transfer window with a fee rising to €41million for the youngster. The Reds partly moved for Diallo in the last transfer window before new criteria is drafted up for Premier League clubs to sign 18 to 21-year-old foreign talent post-Brexit.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed the club are hopeful of gaining a work permit for the 18-year-old who is set to seal his move to England in the coming weeks.
Diallo has made a handful of first-team appearances for the Serie A side this season and left United fans impressed when showcasing his skills in training towards the end of last year.
The youngster posted a message Instagram, wishing his fans well for 2021. He wrote: “2021 be a good year for all of us, inch’allah.
United fans were quick to flood his replies with his transfer edging ever closer.
United also signed promising Uruguayan winger Facundo Pellistri during the summer window, with the forward joining up with the U23 side.
Solskjaer confirmed he hasn’t decided whether Diallo will be thrown straight into the first-team following his move to England.
He said last month: “With Amad, hopefully we can get him in and we’ll see how the squad looks and how he looks and how he settles as soon as possible.
“They’re both talented players that we believe will have a long career here. It’s important we find the right time.”
