A report by the Mirror states that Manchester United board members do not regret missing out on Jadon Sancho last summer, and instead want Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
United were poised to sign Jadon Sancho in the summer, but a £108m asking price put them off. The signing was believed to spur Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team into the title race, which has happened without him.
That has led the United board to refocus their interest on Norwegian superstar Erling Haaland. Solskjaer reportedly made a late dash to sign Haaland last year, but nothing came of it.
Now, it is reported that the striker has a £70m release clause that kicks in next summer. With 33 goals in 32 matches, Haaland has attracted interest from giants such as FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
However, it is believed that both the Spanish clubs are in a state of rebuilding, and United are further down that road.
The drawback will be that the club will have to deal with the troublesome Mino Raiola, who has stirred up a lot of controversy in the Paul Pogba matter already. However, it is believed
that the club would be willing to work with the superagent if it meant Haaland would arrive.
