Manchester United have eyed a move for Norwich City defender Max Aarons ahead of the winter transfer window. It comes just months after both Arsenal and Tottenham failed to land U21 England international. The Catalan giants were also interested in the right-back.
The Red Devils are desperate to strengthen their back-line, particularly at centre-back and right-back. Despite the Norwegian manager is a huge fan of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, there is not much competition in the position, like there is at left-back.
On the other flank, both Luke Shaw and Alex Telles are fighting it out for a spot in the starting line-up. But Wan-Bissaka has just the likes of Brandon Williams and Tim Fosu-Mensah competing with him and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eyeing more quality in his squad.
It comes after a last-gasp winner over Wolves in the PL which suddenly has turned Man United into title contenders. Red Devils went second after Marcus Rashford scored in the fourth minute of extra time with Nuno Espirito Santo’s men, two points behind Liverpool.
And Red Devils chiefs want to keep up the momentum by splashing the cash in the winter transfer window. Norwich defender is the top target, who was chased by both Spurs and Gunners in the summer. However, both London clubs failed to stump up the asking price for the right-back, while Barcelona were also linked with the Englishman.
The English right-back has been touted for stardom with some brilliant displays that helped Norwich initially get promoted to the PL. And, despite their relegation, he has stayed at Carrow Road and continued his fine form in the Championship.
