The Argentine was invited to promote ‘Visit Saudi’ tourism campaign but he rejected, possibly because of the alleged human right violations in the country.
Lionel Messi has rejected multi-million offers from Saudi Arabia to star in their ‘Visit Saudi’ tourism advertising campaign, as per The Telegraph.
It’s said that the Saudi Arabian authorities were ready to pay Messi around €6m per year, with the agreement needing him to feature in commercial campaigns and visit the country.
Yet the Argentine refused the offer possibly due to the fact that the international community accuses Saudi Arabia of the human rights violations.
Cristiano Ronaldo received a similar offer and also refused.
Saudi Arabia is aiming to become an attractive tourist destination with its ‘Visit Saudi’ campaign, but they won’t be getting help by two of the world’s best footballers.
