Laporta believes that Puig fits Barca’s style and he always improves the team when he’s subbed on.
The former president notes that Riqui always plays with a smile on his face.
“I liked Riqui Puig’s decision [to take the fifth penalty vs Real Sociedad]. Plus, he has charm. He plays with a smile. It’s nice to see him play, he fits Barcelona’s style and when he comes in, the dynamics of the game change,” Joan Laporta has said.
Riqui Puig stole the show in the Supercup semi-final against La Real as he became the one to score the winning penalty. The youngster was subbed in after the end of regular time and spent 30 minutes on the pitch, more than in any other match this term.
