Koeman believes that Elche could’ve equalised with their only chance if not for Ter Stegen.
The coach is pleased with Barca’s display, saying they pressed well.
“Elche had only one chance, and it was because of a big defensive mistake, but Marc-Andre ter Stegen was very good one-on-one. We’re lucky to have a great goalkeeper because they could have equalised. The best thing about today was our pressing and our play without the ball. We’re just the winners,” Ronald Koeman said after the Elche win, as per Football Espana.
“We’ve had many games in the last few days and we’ve been very focused,” he continued.
“We were superior to the opposition, we were patient, we stole balls. It was difficult to score because they had a lot of people behind the ball, but we pressed well.”
Ter Stegen looks like he’s finding his form back. In the last five league matches, the German has conceded three goals and kept three clean sheets. As a reminder, all of these games were played away from home.
