After Roman Abramovich announced he had decided to sell Chelsea, John Terry took to social media to express his gratitude to the owner who led his club to the new level.
Well, Labour MP Chris Bryant who has been demanding to put sanctions on Abramovich did not take it well.
“This is appalling,” Bryant tweeted.
“I think @JohnTerry26 you should take this down ASAP. The people of Ukraine are being bombed, shelled and murdered while you celebrate Abramovich.”
He then took the matter to the House of Commons, sending this message to Conservative MP Nadine Dorries.
“I wonder whether she would condemn John Terry today. I don’t know whether she’s seen this, but he has posted today a photo of himself with Roman Abramovich, who is one of Putin’s cronies, what will the people of Ukraine think of the former England football captain?”
Abramovich has decided to sell Chelsea amid growing pressure on him due to his alleged links with Vladimir Putin.
