  • Toni Nadal hopes that Messi will help Victor Font’s team build an exciting project at Barca.
  • Nadal believes that Leo remains motivated to succeed this season despite having tried to leave.
  • He is certain that the Argentine still has a lot to give to the club.

“I don’t know if I see myself capable [to convince Leo Messi to say], but I would try for sure. I wish he gave me the opportunity to. I would like to see him win another Champions League with us. Also winning the Ballon d’Or, I would like him to help us build an exciting project,” Toni Nadal, who’s expected to be a part of Barcelona’s board if Victor Font wins the presidential election, has told Diario Sport.

“No, [I don’t think Messi is unmotivated]. In the games I have seen, he was motivated and was playing at a good level. I always trust the best and Messi has been the best in the world for many years, he continues to be so and I am convinced that he still has a lot to give to the club.”

As a reminder, Messi’s contract with us expires already next summer. Convincing Leo to stay at Camp Nou is going to be one of the main priorities for whoever wins the elections at Barca. The Argentine could sign a pre-contract with a new club already in January.
