Callum Hudson-Odoi has said playing with fellow academy graduates in Mason Mount and Reece James is easier.
Hudson-Odoi says that the youngsters want to achieve things as a collective.
Chelsea’s academy has finally produced a class of players that have made it into the first team picture.
“I’ve been playing with Reece and Mason for a lot of years now so I know their qualities and capabilities, and they know what I can do,” Hudson-Odoi told Chelsea’s official website.
“Playing with them is easier because they know exactly what I’m able to do on the pitch, they’re able to help me and link up with me as quick as possible.
“They know what I’m capable of going forward and I know what they’re capable of doing as well so it’s good to link up with them.
“Coming through the Academy, it’s a nice feeling to know we’re doing the Academy proud. We want to keep going as a collective, keep trying to win as many points and get as many games as possible.
“It’s always nice to link up with the boys – they’re humble with good energy so it’s good to keep playing around them and I just hope it carries on for many years.”
Chelsea’s youth system has been widely criticized for many years, thanks to players never quite breaking into the first team and spending endless years on loan.
With CHO, Mount, Tammy Abraham and Reece James, that seems to have changed, with all 4 firmly established as first team regulars.
