Font reveals iconic name Xavi wants as sporting director at Barcelona
- Font says that Xavi’s dream is to have Jordi Cruyff, the son of Johan Cruyff, as sporting director.
- Besides Cruyff, the presidential candidate says he’ll try to get Puyol, as well as change the La Masia structure.
“Jordi Cruyff is one of Xavi’s dreams for the sporting director role,” Font has said as quoted by Diario Sport. “We are convinced by him.”
Jordi Cruyff, the son of the legendary Johan Cruyff, was brought up at La Masia and played for Barcelona between 1994 and 1996. He is currently the head coach at Chinese club Shenzhen.

Font also revealed other structural changes he will implement at Barca if he’s elected.
“I will do everything possible so that talent like Puyol returns to the club. He should be involved with Barca during the coming years.
“Joan Vila and Albert Benaiges are part of the structure we have in mind for the academy.”
As interim president Carles Tusquets has announced, the next presidential elections are expected to take place around Christmas.
