“Playing inside through passes which break lines, and find players in positional advantage, makes the difference. In other words, Riqui Puig makes his teammates better players,” former La Masia technical director Albert Puig has tweeted via his tactical online-course account.
“Critics of Riqui Puig often point out that he is no good at defending because he’s so small and skinny. He played less than 45 minutes and recovered more balls than most of his teammates,” he added.
Riqui Puig was one of our best performers against Juventus. The 21-year-old did his best to sharpen Barca’s attacking play and was indeed solid while defending.
