Eibar lost to Real Madrid and drew with Barcelona in less than 10 days.
Jose Luis Mendilibar explains that his players couldn’t keep up with Real Madrid’s high-intensity play.
He says that the game tempo is the difference between the Whites and the Catalans these days.
“The difference between Barca and [Real] Madrid is that Madrid are capable of playing much faster than Barca,” Eibar head coach Jose Luis Mendilibar has told Cadena SER.
“Madrid played us in the first 20 minutes at a tempo that we were not able to keep up with,” he explained.
Against Real Madrid, Eibar conceded two goals in the first 13 minutes of the game. Only after that, Mendilibar’s side managed to regain some possession and find the net.
On Tuesday, Eibar managed to steal points from Barcelona as the game finished in a 1-1 draw.
