The idea of a strike partnership between Ousmane Dembele and Raphinha was said to be welcomed by Xavi – and many Barcelona fans.
However, that idea is now considered unrealistic this season because Barcelona simply does not hold the ace to sign either Dembele or Raphinha.
First, Dembele has so far refused to accept Barca’s frugal offer for a new contract that comes with a 60% pay cut.
Second, Chelsea have out-bided Barca for Raphinha and Leeds are ready to sell the Brazilian to the Blues.

As things stand, Barca are not close to signing the new winger or extending Dembele which means the idea of a new partnership is dead in the water.
