Barca’s €7.5m signing Matheus has only played 17 minutes this term.

As Ronald Koeman promised, he’s made Frenkie de Jong a key player at Barcelona, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that the Dutchman is the player with the most minutes spent on the pitch this term so far. Leo Messi, despite being 33 years old, having played only 25 minutes less.

Here’s the full list:

  • Frenkie de Jong — 1,589 mins, 19 matches
  • Leo Messi — 1,574 mins, 18 matches
  • Jordi Alba — 1,416 mins, 18 matches
  • Clement Lenglet — 1,279 mins, 19 matches
  • Antoine Griezmann — 1,259 mins, 18 matches
  • Sergino Dest — 1,192 mins, 16 matches
  • Pedri — 1,101 mins, 19 matches
  • Sergio Busquets — 1,047 mins, 17 matches
  • Marc-Andre ter Stegen — 990 mins, 11 matches
  • Gerard Pique — 850 mins, 10 matches
  • Neto — 810 mins, 9 matches
  • Sergi Roberto — 809 mins, 10 matches
  • Martin Braithwaite — 769 mins, 15 matches
  • Philippe Coutinho — 768 mins, 13 matches
  • Ronald Araujo — 623 mins, 9 matches
  • Ansu Fati — 596 mins, 10 matches
  • Oscar Mingueza — 581 mins, 8 matches
  • Ousmane Dembele — 577 mins, 12 matches
  • Francisco Trincao — 554 mins, 18 matches
  • Junior Firpo — 246 mins, 7 matches
  • Carles Alena — 170 mins, 5 matches
  • Riqui Puig — 77 mins, 4 matches
  • Samuel Umtiti — 55 mins, 3 matches
  • Konrad de la Fuente — 17 mins, 2 matches
  • Matheus Fernandes — 17 mins, 1 match

As you can see, Matheus is the least-used player under Koeman, having played 17 minutes in the 4-0 away win against Ferencvaros. Besides that, he’s been included in the matchday squad six times but remained on the bench on every occasion.
