- De Jong says that the referee’s decisions oftentimes don’t advantage Barca.
- Frenkie was pushed down inside the penalty box but the official didn’t even check VAR.
“There are situations when the decisions don’t go in our advantage. But we need to win these games,” Frenkie de Jong told the press after the Alaves draw.
“I don’t know if there was a penalty. However, I felt a push from the back. I didn’t see it because I don’t have eyes on the back of my head.”
In the second half, De Jong went in for a header after a cross from Sergi Roberto. The Dutchman’s show went over the bar. However, it seemed like the Alaves defender pushed Frenkie from the back.
However, the referee didn’t even look at VAR to see whether that was a penalty or not.
After failing to win four matches in a row, Barcelona sit in 12th place with eight points after six games. We are six points behind league leaders Real Madrid.
