The COVID-19 pandemic, which has redefined the global sports industry and affected how almost every aspect of the world functions, has also made resilient players stronger, FC Bulmaro’s Spokesperson, Ms. Ekanem Wushishi has said.

The FC Bulmaro Media Manager, whose team is currently preparing for the resumption of sporting activities in Nigeria, said at the weekend that contrary to general expectation that the coronavirus pandemic would have negative impact on all aspects of life, the opposite is the effect on her club and other well-structured teams.

Speaking after a pre-resumption meeting with the team and technical crew at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, Ms. Wushishi said FC Bulmaro’s innovative ideas and pragmatic approach to difficult situations has so far helped the club to overcome the COVID-19 challenges.

“The team is very young, vibrant, energetic and innovative. The technical crew is sound and highly complete, just as the drivers of the project are ahead of the times. Drawing from their robust experience from other areas of the economy, they have been able to emerge form the current situation stronger,” she added.

Ms. Wushishi commended Sports Minister, Sunday Dare, for his ministry’s proactive response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that the minister’s frontal confrontation of problems in the sector, including will to produce an effective National Sports Industry Policy, the renovation of the national stadiums in Lagos and Abuja, has given the sector a new lease of life.

She also commended the Federal Government on the appointment of Super Eagles legend, Daniel Amokachi, as Special Assistant on Sports to President Muhammadu Buhari, saying it’s a clear indication that the current government and sports ministry have listening ears.
