Clement Lenglet was forced off during Barcelona’s match against Osasuna.

The only blemish in Barcelona’s convincing win against Osasuna over the weekend was the injury to center-back Clement Lenglet.

Lenglet suffered an injury to his ankle in the second-half and had to be helped off the pitch by the club trainers. Early signs did not look promising.

However, looks can be deceiving as Lenglet is expected to only miss the Champions League game against Ferencvaros. Mundo Deportivo reported that the Frenchman did specific work during the team’s training ahead of their upcoming game.

While Lenglet will not travel with the team to Hungary, he could be available for their next La Liga fixture against Cadiz.

The last thing manager Ronald Koeman wanted to see was the sight of another one of his defenders hobbling off the pitch. With the long-term injuries to Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto, Barcelona cannot afford to lose any more defenders.

The Frenchman was the only fit senior defender against Osasuna and has become an anchor at the back since arriving from Sevilla.

Barcelona are getting more good news on the injury front with Ronald Araujo edging closer and closer to a return. The Uruguayan has been out since picking up an injury in the game against Juventus.

Araujo took part in training with the rest of his teammates as he awaits the medical green light. The hope is that he will be ready in time to possibly feature against Ferencvaros or be available coming off the bench.

For now, the Catalans are going to have to make do with ‘B’ player Oscar Mingueza and Frenkie de Jong as a makeshift center-back.

Regardless, Lenglet’s injury not being serious and the looming return of Araujo are two boosts to a Barcelona side already plagued with injuries to important players.
