Moussa Wague has been successfully operated in Barcelona after the terrible knee injury he picked up during a match for PAOK, the club has confirmed.
The right-back had his patellar ligament in his right knee repaired.
Wague is expected to be out for around nine months and will remain at Barcelona for the recovery period.
Dario Sport reported earlier that the 22-year-old could consider early retirement because of the injury.
Before the injury, Wague was doing rather well on loan at PAOK, providing one assist in 12 games in all competitions.
